Great for classroom

My grade 2 students appreciate the hearing protectors that we purchased to keep them from being distracted by classroom noise. When we only had 2 sets, all of them asked to be one of the ones chosen to wear them. Now that we have a class set, there is no need for any arguments over who should wear them. We got the first two sets to help some of the students who are sensitive to noise and have difficulty with sustaining attention. This happens to be about 80% of the class so we felt that the whole class would benefit if we got one for each of them. A rule that the students understand is that, if they are wearing the hearing protector, they are not permitted to talk unless it is to ask the teacher a question. It helps them to stay focused on the task-at-hand. I have noticed a remarkable difference in the classroom. The noise level has been reduced and the length of time each student takes to complete their work has been reduced.
